Game Economy Designer

The Role

​

• We are looking for an innovative Game Economy Designer to create a rewarding player centric game economy for our original IP game.

 

Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive economic systems and features (progression & reward structures, currencies, sinks & sources for NFT blockchain based games.) aligned with the creative, game, and monetization goals

• Collaborate with our design team to come up with pricing strategies for items, events, and services.

• Collaborate with other disciplines to achieve superior results when designing and implementing core economic systems 

• Rapidly iterate on designs based on market data, player analytics and playtest feedback

• Develop a plan for collecting and evaluating player feedback for a live service

• Assess the impacts of adding, removing, or updating content on player engagement

 

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• An understanding of gamer motivation & a passion for the medium of video games

• An undergraduate degree in Game Design, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or equivalent 

• At least 2 years of experience in design, economics, or related experience (live/online game development a huge plus)

• In-depth knowledge of Excel + basic familiarity with game engines (e.g. Unity or Unreal) 

• Critical thinking, curiosity, attention to detail, resourcefulness, and plenty of flexibility

• Ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations  

• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision when necessary

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

 

Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications

• AAA console development experience

• At least 2 shipped titles in the role of Game Economy Designer, Meta Game Designer or Systems Designer

• A design geek at heart - you appreciate and see the design in everything

• Familiarity with Data Visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau etc.

• Comfortable with working remotely on a full-time basis
